I’m getting awful close to buying a third car, and among the MR2s that I’ve been seeing I also stumbled on a pair of these:
I love the way they look, of course they’re no longer RWD, but they also don’t cost an arm and a leg like an AE86.
Is it basically a Toyota Prelude? Is it not nearly as sporting as it looks? They’re both short enough money that if it sucks I don’t stand to lose much.

A good competitor to the Honda Prelude.

pop-up headlights are cool, and the AE92 is a quality car like any Toyota of the time :)

Ate Up With Motor has a pretty detailed history on it.

If I found a cheap one, I’d buy it, but just for that smallport 4AGE head which will make its way into an MR2 where it belongs.
